sunshine challenge #1 & #2
i'm not great with color prompts but i always loved color coded characters so i decided to do a little icon spam of my fave characters and maybe a little rambling, idek.
( prompt #1: red )
i'm not allowed to like red. it was a childish reluctance at first and then someone explicitly forbid me to wear it when she was in the room. manipulation is a very nasty, subtle, insidious thing. it taught me i wasn't allowed to pick a favorite, if someone else had picked it first. despite that, i still love it. i think it's a very edgy color, paired with black. red is blood, sacrifice, pain. it's the color of a flashy exterior to hide behind. the perfect color for armor.
my icon choices are edward elric because of the coat but also because of the blood/pain/sacrifice thing; dave striderbecause of his text color and the time aspect, but also because he's definitely one of those who uses red to hide behind; karkat vantas because of his blood and because of his secretive shtick, but also because red is the edgiest color on alternia; gabriel reyes because red and black is the color of blackwatch (blood, pain, sacrifice), because he's an edgelord and because he definitely has something to hide; keith and tony stark because of their armor but also because they both have the pain/blood/sacrifice/things to hide thing going.
i never thought about orange, besides its link with dirk strider. i guess it's the color of summer but in that way that isn't welcome anymore. the sticky heat of july and august. according to the pride flag, orange is meant to be about healing, which i find very ironic since red in my mind means pain and hurt. i guess it's the next step.
my icon choices are dirk strider because of his text, zenyatta because of his robes but also because of his connection to healing, and tobio kageyama because of his uniform.
