*shoves away astarion* let me be real for a second. this one here. is the fic that changed my year. yeah, sure, i saw astarion and dissociated for two months straight, but this was deliberate.
reading i won't left be here behind closed doors by elliptical was the best thing that happened to me this year. their writing (and their friendship ♥) in general really kicked me out of a writing slump that i spent two years wallowing in. so i'm stupid proud of it (and of the sequel that i didn't manage to finish for this year but hopefully will see the light in 2024)
one of my oldest and silliest ideas for raven boys (it was funnier as a shitpost, but i still like it), the one where ronan and gansey get stuck in the camaro's seats??? and the one where your grindr match is bucky barnes. for this last one i wasted more time coding the grindr chat thing than writing the fic, people who write social media fic with the whole formatting are my new heroes.
i don't know what it says about me that i picked the one with kavinsky/ronan as a pairing, the one about tongue cutting that does not contain any sexual content, and the knife-play one with original characters that aren't even mine but. listen, just trust me. (special shout out to chapter 2 of mister impossible though, i like that one too)
respectively, these are the stories that made me discover astarion, staeve and halsin. i never know how it's going to feel like writing a character's voice until i find myself in their head, so here we are. special mention to on broken backs as well, because even if it's ronan's pov, it made me finally really discover hennessy.
thank you MAF for staeve + logue (and chai, for klaus), your boys just make my writing juice flow. these are very short, but also they dropped fully formed in my brain and i just banged them out with no effort at all. i wish they were all like this.
the entirety of the cazador trash party series falls under this category honestly. sweetest is a bit of a dark horse- a partner's loving words accidentally triggering the worst memory you have? i liked the double edged sword.
stay assured that the 'unintentionally telling' part isn't about suicide. it's more about the shape of thoughts, i think, and the kind of thing i like to write when i'm not stressing out too much. i won't elaborate. enjoy.
